Showing My Thanks

I wanted to show my gratitude for all the songs that have found their way through me as a vessel, because that's really all I am. When I'm inspired to write a song, there's nothing I did to initiate it, except perhaps being receptive to it. There's no stopping a song when it's on the way. I've never successfully tried to write a song. The songs that I've captured and penned were never labored over, they just came pouring into me.

I've decided to do a song blog, because I hope by honoring these songs that have come to me, more will come. It's also an archive for anyone who wants to hear these songs. I know how to put videos on here (so easy, I'm not sure when this happened, but every day, more and more, I am convinced that I am living in the future!) Maybe I can even put songs up as MP3s for listening. I have many recordings of my songs... and some are ROUGH, but underneath the roughness is usually a little bit of awesomeness and that's why I hung onto it.

This may also be a space where I journal about the songs, where I think they came from. Many of my songs were premonitions, and while I wasn't sure where they were coming from at the time they came true later. Many are autobiographical, some are imagined, some are ways I held onto those fleeting perfect moments in time, and I knew as long as I knew the song, I would never forget the memory tied to it.

So, for those who want it, this is for you. All lyrics and music by Clair Anna Rose Stoeckley (unless otherwise noted.)

Share it, sing it, pass it on. Give credit. Who am I to cling to the gifts that came to me in song? If I don't share them, what are they here on earth for?

Love,
Clair Anna Rose
